But why is that?
Our body consist of water. From 31% to be exact in bones to 64% in skin to 79% in muscles and kidneys to 85% in brain, eyes, ... . On average adult's body is 64% water..
But how is it, since our bodies seem to be solid?
Here comes Hyaluronic Acid. It is found throughout your body, as it forms part of the structural connective tissue that holds together tissues. HA is a fundamental component of the extracellular matrix, which occupies the area between cells. One small molecule of HA absorbs 1000 times its own weight of water. It is produced in the body naturally, however, over time, as with all vitamins and nutrients in the body, the synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid along with collagen diminishes at the rate of 1.5% a year.
SKIN
Almost half of the body’s HA is located in the collagen of the skin, acting as a moisture-retaining gel
One year old's body contains on average 73% of water
